35 weeks…

…and still growing!

My appt yesterday went great. Nice and boring. I gained 4 pounds last week – I guess she had a growth spurt! Here’s a pic from later in the afternoon, just before we went out for a big family dinner.

The Butterfly Exhibit.

August 25, 2009

Yesterday Brian and I took Ruby to the Nature Center to see the Butterfly Exhibit. She had a blast, and even got to hold some of the butterflies!

After that we walked around and saw the rest of the animals. It was such a fun and relaxing afternoon. Later we went out for mussels and frites, and stopped by the Chocolate Lounge for dessert. I think we were all really grateful to spend the entire day together! It was a good day for the Candees!

Here are some pics from the Nature Center:

Bath time.

Yes, she’s getting too big for the sink. And we don’t have bath tub, so this is our only option.

But seriously, who cares if her legs are folded like a spider’s and her tush gets a big red circle on it from sitting on the drain? Look how much fun she has when she’s in there!!

Here’s me and baby still cooking at 34 weeks. Ruby was born at 34 weeks to the day!

I guess here’s where it’ll start to get interesting…I’ve never been this pregnant before!

Biking to work!

August 17, 2009

In an attempt to go even more green, Brian is biking to work!! Last week his bike was finally ready for commuting and he was off! Ruby helped him get his spiffy shoes on and get all his gear in order. Then we sat on the front porch and waved goodbye!!

Our long term plan is to get rid of the Subaru in June of 2010, when our lease is up. Then we’ll drop down to one car and no car payments. We know it’s ambitious, but seriously…we live 2 miles at most from Cucina. There’ll be rainy and snowy days that are challenging, but we are sure we can do it!! We are very excited to do our part!

Here’s some pics from Bri’s first day riding!

Our heirlooms.

Brian is the proud father of some serious tomatoes. He even talks about them like they’re his kids.

Ruby helps him water and pick them every morning. Yesterday we had about 25 ripe ones…yellow and red Brandywines, Cherokee Purples, Black Princes, Pineapples, and Sun Golds. They’re beauties! Now we just have to figure out what to do with all of them…

Our 3rd Anniversary!

August 12, 2009

Last night Brian and I celebrated three years of being happily married. We spent 4 whole hours together with no child, and had an amazing time!

Dinner at Fig was absolutely delicious. I’ve never been so full, especially since my stomach is smooshed up against my ribs now and I can barely fit in a snack sized portion of food. Our friend Ariel watched Ruby and they had a blast together playing dollies and riding Ruby’s tricycle!

Bri and I hope to find the time to go out together more often. Every time we get to, we try to remind ourselves to do it again soon. It was truly amazing to spend such quality time with each other. We are so lucky to have all that we do! Three years of marriage and almost two kids later (woah!), we love each other more than ever…
